FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. Is the Symposium happening in person or online?

The Symposium will only be online this year, in keeping with the CDC guidelines to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19.

Q. Do I have to register for the full day seminar or can I just attend one of the sessions?

With the Zoom online webinar platform, attendees will need to register for the entire day. However, you may attend one session if that’s all the time you have available. In addition, if interested in earning CEUs, you may be eligible for each presentation that you view in its entirety.

Q. What do I need to do if I'm interested in obtaining CEUs?

Those individuals interested in obtaining CEUs must log in using their registered email address, attend the entire CEU session and return a completed Survey Monkey evaluation for each CEU presentation. You must complete the Survey Monkey evaluations by October 28, 2020. After October 28, 2020, the Survey Monkey evaluations will no longer be available online.

Q. When and how will I receive my CEUs?

We will send CEU certificates via email within two weeks to all verified attendees who have completed their Survey Monkey evaluations by October 28, 2020 and who were verified as logged in for the duration of each online CEU.

Q. Do I have to be a professional Counselor or Therapist or Licensed Clinical Social Worker to attend the sessions that award CEU credits?

No, all are welcome at the CEU sessions but please be aware that the content focus will be more clinically based.

Q. Where can I find biographies of the presenters?

You can find credentials and bios for all presenters here.

Q. Do I need any special downloads to attend the Symposium on Zoom?

You will need to download the Zoom Desktop Application. To learn more about Zoom on Windows and Mac click here.

Q. If a social worker is only licensed in a state other than Maryland, will the CEUs be awarded?

The Maryland Board Of Social Work Examiners certified that these programs meet the criteria for up to 3 credit hours of Category 1 Continuing Education for Social Workers in Maryland (if all CEU presentations are attended). For social workers licensed in other states, please check with the Board of Examiners of your state for information regarding their acceptability.
