The Wellness Space is an area dedicated to the art of self-care. Come learn about the healing power of touch, sound, and scent. Information and demonstrations will be offered in therapeutic sound and music, comfort touch, essential oils, energy healing and acupuncture. Discover new ways of taking care of yourself (or taking care of someone else) and feeling good in body, mind and spirit!

Wellness Space Schedule

7:45 - 8:45 am   Enjoy violin music by Certified Music Practitioner Alexander Strachan during Registration and Continental Breakfast.

12:00 - 1:00 pm   Visit the Wellness Space in the Exhibitor Hall to learn more and experience:

  • Therapeutic sound and music
  • Comfort touch and Aroma touch demonstrations
  • Acupuncture demonstrations

Teri Jacobson is a certified End of Life Doula and a volunteer for Hospice of the Chesapeake. She is a passionate and experienced Wellness Practitioner and a great supporter of the mission of hospice.

Jill Madey is a Licensed Acupuncturist, a certified End of Life Doula, and a volunteer for Hospice of the Chesapeake. Her passion for hospice’s mission began when she experienced the profound impact Hospice professionals had on her loved ones. She is honored to provide comfort, strength, and wellness for her clients and her loved ones.

Alexander Strachan is a professional Certified Music Practitioner for the Hospice of the Chesapeake where he plays the violin for patients and their families. He also travels to jails to partner with yoga instructors for live violin music/yoga sessions for the inmates. Alexander studies the violin under the tutelage of Holly Hamilton of the National Symphony Orchestra.

Annetta Cook is an essential oil wellness advocate, certified AromaTouch® practitioner, and Reiki practitioner. She has been a patient care volunteer (PCV) with Hospice of the Chesapeake for almost 15 years. Since completing Reiki and aroma therapy PCV training, she has a deeper and more passionate approach for Hospice PCV visits using these healing arts. Annetta has been Hospice’s aroma therapy trainer since 2017.


Terrell Vaughn is a music producer/composer with a passion for writing meditative beats that balance the body, mind, and spirit. His original songs are based in his creative use of alternative sound tuning to produce works that offer clarity and relaxation in meditative settings.


Kendra Turner, is an Eden Energy Medicine Certified Practitioner (EEM-CP), a Reiki Master/Teacher, and an essential oil wellness advocate. Kendra believes that to truly heal, healing must happen on all levels – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. To her, energy medicine is the missing piece in western medicine. The two are not opposing, but complementary methods. Used in conjunction, they treat the whole person.
