Marcus A. Anderson, LCSW
Marcus Anderson currently serves as a Clinical Liaison at Hospice of the Chesapeake. He is a proud graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University where he obtained a dual Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Criminal Justice. While working as a Crime Scene Investigator he volunteered in a group home that housed teens ages 16+ who were sexually abused and had a mental health diagnosis. While working with these teens, he felt drawn to the idea of improving the lives of at risk youth and helping improve the quality of life for all people. With this decision he enrolled and graduated from the Masters of Social Work program from Virginia Commonwealth University. After several years of working in the District of Columbia as a clinician, he found a joy in working in end of life care also known as Hospice. While serving the community he observed a significant deficit in knowledge of how helpful comfort care is in the African-American Community. With this in mind he strives to educate the Prince George’s Community not only about Hospice care but also the importance and need for Advanced Care Planning.
