JoAn Monplaisir, MSW, LCSW
JoAn Monplaisir is a licensed clinical social worker with the home care adult and pediatric teams at Hospice of the Chesapeake. JoAn works with patients and families therapeutically to address anticipatory grief, healthy coping strategies, and referrals to community resources. Within her time working with hospice families, JoAn has recognized how social workers and helping professionals are integral to helping patients and families navigate the dying process. It’s in how you empathize and connect with the people who welcome you into their homes during their most vulnerable times, how you reflect your understanding of their needs back to them, and how you continue to help empower them to make difficult decisions. JoAn received her BA in Psychology from the State University of New York at Geneseo and MSW in Clinical Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work.
